When scripture, "it is written," conflicts with any of the following items
- What you thought
- What you were taught
- Your beliefs
- Your religious affiliation's doctrine
- Your love for the praise of men is more than your love for the praise of God.

That is when you have to decide who to follow, Jn 10:26-28.
Make a note of anything that seems questionable and the reason(s) why it seems questionable.
After further study of the scriptures, review your questionable items.

Here is a list of things to consider.
- Have I considered, read, and understand all the verses on this subject. Not just those in the New Testament.
- Do I overlook or disregard verses that conflict with my beliefs or my religious affiliation's doctrine.
- Do I overlook or disregard any words, in certain verses, that would cause conflict with my beliefs or my religious affiliation's doctrine.
- Did I read the verses before and after a given verse quotation used in my decesion making process.
- Did I read the chapter before and after a given verse quotation used in my decesion making process.
- Do I avoid considering all the testimonial writings together that are in the synoptic gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke.
- Do I avoid integrating all gospel teachings.
- Do I avoid integrating the teachings of the gospels, Acts, and Letters / Epistles together.
- Do I avoid integrating the Old and New Testaments teachings together.
- Do I use logic or reasoning to arrive at a belief rather than using "it is written" verses.
